This page is to remember the rabbits that are no longer with us. If you would like us to remember your rabbit then please email your pics and wording to bunnyhoprescue@btinternet.com. They do not have to be rabbits adopted from Bunny Hop Rescue.

This is Mr Thumps, he died the day before his 1st birthday. He was a big rabbit with a huge personality.
You will always be in our hearts. Sleep tight
This was Candy, our first ever bun, full of attitude and a little madam but the most loving rabbit you could wish to meet.
Miss you so much baby girl.
This was my Harry Woo, the softest, gentlest rabbit you could ever meet.
Will miss you forever my darling.
This was my Dobbs, the very first time I saw him and he stole my heart.
And this how he grew into the most beautiful, cheeky and mischevious bunny.
I would hold him close and pour out my worries and he would listen.
You took a part of my heart with you my baby.
Run free my sweet.
Hiedi you were our very first giant rabbit, I can just remember Elaine bringing you to me and we loved you instantly, I had waited 10yrs for a giant rabbit to come into a rescue and you were definately worth the wait. I have never know such a more placid rabbit in my life (except Harry of course). I bonded you with Simba and you were both very close and always snuggled up then earlier on this year Fudge lost her partner Doodles and you excepted Fudge so she wouldn't be alone. You and Fudge were really close and were always lay across each other and Simba just use to come and lay next to you both as if to say I'm here too. Seems really strange now that you are no longer with us and was such a shock at the same time. I couldn't see you in so much pain and discomfort and knew you were not happy because you couldn't go and snuggle up to Fudge and Simba. Sleep tight and we will always love you. xxxx
Honey came in to rescue about 3 weeks ago. She was one of the luckier rabbits as all she had ever known throughout her life was love and kindness. Due to work related issues with her owner he haqd to make the toughest decision any loving caring owner as to do and put the welfare of Honey first.
Unfortunately on Monday 17th December 07 I took Honey into be spayed and when she was opened up she was full of tumours and my vet & I had to do the right thing by her. She was only with me a short time but really made a lasting impression on me. She would play out and go and taunt the other rabbits that weren't, she was a confident girl and settled in really well. Honey will be sadly missed by me and her owner Phill.

Sleep tight Honeyxxxx
JayJay came into rescue with two of his friends, sadly we lost one of his friends due to dental abcesses and then lost his other friend to uterine cancer. Jayjay was really lucky and found a forever home last year and wanted for nothing he had a lovely big garden to play in and a wonderful bunny friend. Sadly after him only being at his new home for approximately 4 weeks JayJay developed pasturella which ended up pneumonia it was only within a matter of hours and unfortunately had to be put to sleep. One thing JayJay could take with him is that he had a very happy 4 weeks of his life and was very much loved and didn't spend his last days in rescue.
Lucy had only been with us 22 days but in those short time she made Simba very happy as he had lost 2 of his partners within a couple of weeks of each other and he was really down in the dumps. Lucy was poorly when she came into us but everything that could possibly be done was done and we had to do the right thing for her. Even though she was poorly it didn't stop her personality shining through and she was such a character.
Sleep tight Lucyxx
Rudy is the Bunny Hop Rescue mascot, he was the very first rescue bun that we took in that really was a neglect case and was going to be put to sleep. After a couple of operations to move some abcesses Rudy went on to become a very healthy rabbit. Rudy was not going to be rehomed as he had gne through so much but we had an open day back in October 2005 where he met his new owner. I have never seen a bond s strong between a rabbit and a human as Rudy had with Laura from the minute they set eyes on each other, Rudy sat in Laura's arms for 4 to 5 hours that day and I knew I couldn't deny him the chance to have a very loving forever home where he would get loads of attention which is something I couldn't give with having the rescue. Rudy wouldn't have gone to anybody else other than Laura because he needed a special home because he was such a special rabbit.
Unfortunately on Wednesday 30th April 2008 Rudy had to be helped to bunny heaven as he had became quite ill all of a sudden and was in alot of discomfort. I will never ever be able to thank Laura enough for giving him the best loving forever home only most rescue rabbits dream of.
Rudy will still live on and continue to raise funds for the rescue with his teddy bear Roaming Rudy.
Flopsy came into rescue at 1yr old, she had been beaten with sticks and at first didn't trust anybody. She began to trust me but still wasn't over keen on strangers, she would go and hide herself away until they had gone. Once the garage was built to extend the rescue and she was moved into it she became a toally different rabbit and when anybody new came into the garage she would pick a piece of paper up and run around with it over her head showing off and people will always remember her for that. We lost Flopsy to a tumour at the age of 7yrs, but at least she had had a good life and was loved. Her partner Smudge is missing her alot but won't seem to bond with anyone else.
Simba Male 6yrs old Lionhead Lop Simba came into rescue as a stray, he had been subjected to some neglect as he had holes pierced in his ears and had a few abcesses on his back. After a couple of operation and a proper diet he has recovered totally. Simba did go to a new home and was brought back because they got a dog. Simba is now staying here with me. He decided he wanted to live with one of my own rabbits and is very happy now. Unfortunately Simba lost his partner earlier on this year and we got him another friend Bonnie who he as lived with for about 7months but unfortunately on Thursday 2nd October 2008 Simba had to be put to sleep as he was very poorly. We will miss Simba very much as from the minute he came into the rescue he really was a character. He didn't like mornings and within the first couple pf weeks he blacked my eye for me as I had woke him up to give him his morning rich tea biscuit. Everybody who comes to the rescue always commented on him and always remembered him.
Elliot came into our rescue in the middle of February this year, he was the saddest looking rabbit I have ever seen and he just use to sit in one place due to thje lack of space and horrid coditions he had come from.
In March a friend who runs BARC (Barnsley Animal Rescue Centre) took Elliot for me, as I was getting over crowded with rescue bunnies. In April BARC rehomed to a wonderful family in Scotland where Elliot had not only a loving family but other rabbits for company and a best friend called Aaron. Sadly Elliot had become poorly and his family had to make a very hard decision to stop Elliots suffering and let him go to the bridge to play with other bunnies.
Nicky and her family loved Elliot from the moment they set eyes upon him and this is what he meant to them.
"From the moment we saw elliot we fell in love with him. He seemed to have the same effect on anyone he came in contact with! He was a very sad bunny and had been neglected quite badly. He was very thin and was a bit wary of people undertstandably. We brought him home and spoke gently to him, stroked him and fed him some treats. He relaxed instantly and never looked back. Unfortunately after only having him a few months his past caught up with him and we had to make the decision to let him go. He was the most brave, beautiful and laid back bunny we have ever had the pleasure to know. I wiill miss his little cheek resting against mine and his cheeky nudge of my hand when i forget myself and stop stroking him for a few seconds. I called him my "well loved teddy" as he had that look about him with his scruffy coat. He will live on in our hearts and memories - remembered with love and respect.
Love you baby boy xx
